An Elegant Chess Set From The Renaissance Era

Capture the Renaissance era with this elegant metal chess set. The Renaissance is the time of the great revival of art, literature, and learning in Europe. Occuring between the 14th and 17th centuries, it was the era of transformation from the medieval to the modern world.

The set comes with a full compliment of Italian made Renaissance metal chess pieces with 5.5" Kings, and base diameters of 1.5 inches. The fine detail in the costumes of the Kings, Queens, and Bishops exemplify the attire of the period. The expressions on the faces are life-like, and the Castles exhibit the fine detail of the stone walls typical of that period. All of the pieces are positioned on decorative pedestals for a solid foundation.

The 21.5 inch briarwood chess board, made in Spain by Ferrer,
is uniquely desgined in glossy grey and ivory, with 2.4 inch squares. Inlaid black pinstriping separates the outer frame from the squares portion. The Renaissance metal chess pieces look stunning on this elegant grey and ivory chess board.
