This stunning chess set comes with a full compliment of Italian made Renaissance metal chess pieces with 5.5" Kings, and base diameters of 1.5 inches. The exquisite detail in the King's garment and the elegant swirled design of the Queen's costume illustrate the attire of the period. The life-like expressions on the face of the King, Queen and Bishop are striking, and the design of the Castle shows the fine detail of the stone walls.  All of the pieces are positioned on decorative pedestals for a solid foundation and confident feel.

The 20.5 inch briarwood chess board, made by skilled craftsmen in Spain, is richly colored in glossy blue and ivory, with 2.2 inch squares. Inlaid burgundy pinstriping separates the frame from the squares section.  The Renaissance pieces look stunning on this unique blue and ivory chess board.
